Oily or Gassy it works for you

Now I am an oily kind of girl. And no I don't mean I like fry foods. What I mean is my face looks like I do after a few hours when I have makeup on especially foundation. When I mean oily I mean oil spill oily. I mean Mom: JM I ran out of oil I need to go Tru Value. JM: Is okay mom you can fry the fries I have enough oil on my face to fry for everyone in the house. It is that bad girls and guys.

Now after looking up cheap oily skin primers cuz a sister on a budget I discover countless videos on Milk of Magnesia as an oily skin primer. It has even been recommended by one of the local gurus. So I say to myself let me buy 1. Well who tell me say that nah.

I never had gas problems but somehow I always have M.O.M in my makeup bag. So you know it was boss.

Put the M.O.M on your face right after moisterizing. I used to make sure the white residue dissolved but I heard that if you leave the residue your face stays  matte for a longer period of time.

TRY IT NAH.

If it doesn't work. Well the next time you need a cleaning out you have some M.O.M handy.

Gassy or Oily.

Holiday/Summer Wonderful Haulage

Now 2011 was the year I went WW crazy and I bought a lot of stuff from Wonderful World.

In January I got
Glittering Starlet Eyeshadow palette-$48
Mini Review: Chalk, packaging is hard to open and the glitter gets everywhere but your eye. I looked like was playing in Tribe in the middle of January and Carnival was late this year, in March which made it worse. lol. I would give it a D+ as I like the purple shades.

5 color Metallic eyeshadow palette-$48
Mini Review: Some colors are really pigmented while others are not. I find that the metallic and shimmer lasts which should seem like it is working but all the reviews I read said that the metallic was just at the top. It doesn't look metallic in the pan after swatching but still applies that way. Packaging is extremely to get open. I would give it a C+.

February
Kiss New York Maxishine lipstick-$30
Mini Review: Highly pigmented. Creamy and rich. Love it. I will give it A-.
Jordana Eyeliner-$20
Mini Review: Like all Jordana liners I give it 2 thumbs up. I will give it an A.

July
Milani Color Perfect Lipstick-$45
Mini Review: All I say is go get it if you don't have it. Why you sticking so? Go get it makeup addicts go get it. A

Nyx Megashine-$45
Mini Review: Smells really amazing. It isn't sticky. Lasts long for me. I don't like the colour but they didn't have any others so. :(. B+

Nyx Round lipstick
Mini Review: Too creamy for me. Way too creamy to the point where it broke and never  was the same. I will give it a C+

NYX brow liner-$12
Mini Review: Does the job I guess. It is ok. I will give it a B+

December-$60

Milani Paint Eyeshadow Palette: Just got it so we will see.

Will give extensive Reviews of all products listed and a look with some later in the week. :)

Merry Christmas Y'll and Have a Blessed and Happy New Year.

Styling and Profiling

I know this is called makeuphungry but I love fashion as well. I think a great look can inspire a great makeup look. They go hand in hand. Hope you like some of the things I put together. :)

Rather starve that use this: L'oreal Infallible Foundation

Before I even start to review this product all I am gonna say is that those with dry skin  might love this. Enough said. When I wear this I can be the fry bake specialist. What do I mean by that? Well you can fry bake on my face after half hour because it greasy and oily. Sigh. And I love the shade though. :(

Description

Infallible makeup is L'Oréal Paris's first foundation that fights the signs of make-up melt down and last up to 16 hours.

Packaging

Glass bottle packaging. It is only until recently the whole glass bottle vibe start to connect with me. I was never a glass bottle fan but now I find them sleek and sophisticated so it works. The packaging is gorgeous.

The pump kind of sucks. In fact mine has stopped working altogether. It has clogged so I can't even use it anymore. Bummer.

Product
To be honest I feel disgusted when I have this on. Only in the last few weeks of using it did I not wanna scrape my face off. It gives medium coverage when applied (A little goes a long way) but after 1 hr for the most I turn into Madam Greasy of the House of Shiny and Oil slick. I look a hot orange mess. You heard me right. The first few tries I looked like I forgot I was dark skinned and decided I wanted a tan. I could have been an extra in a Willy Wonka movie. I looked really bad. It has this I am wearing foundation look and feel. Eventually I started wearing it only at nigh events. Like dinner parties, fetes stuff like that. One day I wore it to school and spent the whole day embarrassed.  I looked cakey, orange and super shinny. If it wasn't for my Milk of Magnesia or my L'oreal magic perfecting base I would never use this product again. I started using it again only so I could throw it away when the 7 months to 1 year deadline reached and I wouldn't have wasted the product. Last few weeks it grew on me. The makeup tears up and you could see my blemishes and I look like an oil spill. The thing is I love the shade even though it started off being too dark for me but I love how the shade looks.

Price

79 dollars at Pennywise Tunapuna. I say this because the other day a Facebook guru told me about a product she bought at PW and when I went at the Trincity Mall branch I got it for more than 10 dollars cheaper. So I don't know what is up with that. lol.

Overall rating: D

It was bought for a wedding so I just bought the first thing to match my skin. PW was packed with people and I needed a foundation stat.

Rant, rave and Misbehave: L'oreal Studio Secret Magic Perfecting Base.

Ladies and Gents, I bring you the L'oreal Studio Magic Perfecting Base.
No. I didn't create it or anything but to me this product is so wonderful it needs no introduction. It is like AMAZING. Like A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. In fact I almost said I was done with L'oreal after a string of bad luck with their products but I decided let me give them one last chance. I hit pan with it. And that is like a big deal for me because I never hit pan with any makeup product unless it falls down and all the product is gone or something to that effect so this gets 2 thumbs up from ME.

Description

Get the perfect skin texture, instantly and all day. The silky, lightweight formula glides onto skin and minimizes the look of pores and fine lines. Skin looks and feels smoothed and resurfaced. The result is a unified matte finish that's flawless. Suitable for all skin types. Dermatologist tested. Non-comedogenic. ( It does feel matte actually makes me feel like I just put baby powder all over my face lol.)

Packaging

The packaging is like its biggest FLAW. Jar packaging is never the best. It is not exactly the most sanitary to use because you have to put your finger it to use it. So if you are a MUA this might be an issue. If you are the Queen of Clumsy land like myself you might have issues with it being a glass jar. I never dropped mine which is a surprise but still if you know your hand slippery then you might have a problem.
The jar is SMALL.When you read on blogs that it is small you may think or people joking or that it might not be so bad. Um yeah it is. When the L'oreal sales person gave it to me I was like WTH. Where the rest of the jar gone.

Product

It is a pink product. Some say mousse while others say foam. I say like a thick cream. Think cocoa butter texture but in pink form. Now it is so light pink that when it goes on your face it looks white when you put it on. Don't worry it blends into your skin. It feels so baby smooth. I don't know about hiding lines and acne scares but I do know it doesn't make them look rough and dark but it is still noticeable just not in your face  AH I have acne anymore. It makes your face feel like powder. Can look a bit ashy if you put too much on but it is still amazing.
It definitely works as a primer as I find it difficult to take off my foundation now at night. Your face will get oily if you have oily skin but not as soon as you walk out the door. I think it works as great as my Milk of Magnesia.

Price
This is where we will fall out. 80 dollars at Pennywise and I saw it selling at makeup counters in Trincity Mall but I sure it would be like 90 dollars there. 80 dollars for a jar the size of say a M.A.C paint pot or a gel liner. Ah I think not. I love it but I could put up 100 dollars more and get a M.A.C or a Smashbox that working much better and more in the container

The Look: Gives you a nice matte finish even under a dewey foundation.

I give it a Rave. Party Time yay. :)

Rather starve that use this: Revlon Custom Creations foundation.

Hey,

Ladies and gents who love makeup. Okay lets cut to the chase. So I saw the ad for Revlon Custom Creations and I thought WOW a foundation that you can customize to fit any skin tone. That sounds like a brilliant idea. So in my head I thought this was gonna be the greatest invention where you turn the dial and BAM there you have it your ideal shade. So I am not saying this can't happen with this product but sweethearts it not that simple.

So lets get started:

Description:

According to the company's website

Create your perfect shade with the simple turn of a dial. Lightweight feel. Naturally flawless. SPF 15.  ( See what I told you before about it is as easy as a turn of a dial and I said that before I read the description. lol)

Packaging:

Comes in a plastic bottle which is great because you can carry it in your suitcase or handbag and not have to worry about it breaking. The cap is pretty decent. It doesn't come off easily so once it is on it is on. Mine right now has makeup in the cap itself and is perfectly okay.
What I am about to say I don't know if you would consider this a flaw in packaging or product.
So I bought this thinking that people like me who could never find their shade because today you have dark skin the next day you look yellow and lighter this would be perfect for me. And I really believed the whole turn the dial and presto changeo you would get your perfect shade so I was truly disappointed. (I got this for Christmas and was so excited too so you know how crushed I was when it failed)
The thing is it isn't that simple. I have this in deep the darkest shade range.
First off if you want this to work or at least not to cry from frustration you better be the lightest shade not the darkest.???? Well because if you aren't  then you will have to spend practically forever trying to squeeze out the lighter shades before you get to yours which means a lot of wasted product.
Most of us are buying it based on the overall concept which if you think about it is very gimmicky.

The pump is not bad. It isn't hard to get the product out but this pump works a little too  well. Even when you are done  it still sprays out so if you on the go and have no time to clean up it could be irritating.

Product

Now here is where the problem starts. For starters it is very thick. It appears so when you place it on your hand but compared to my other foundations such as my Maybelline Dream Liquid Foundation. ( I hope I said that right. lol). It feels like liquid foundation. For all those over 30 or even those who were born before 2000, remember how liquid foundation used to feel. Like you just placed a thick mud mask on your face even with the littlest amount. Yep well guess what y'll. The dreaded heavy liquid makeup from the past has come back and it is this. This is just my opinion and in my opinion it feels very thick compared to my other liquid foundations. It is extremely cakey if you apply too much so trying to build it up (which you don't need to because it is definitely a full coverage foundation). I like the fact that isn't wet and cold when I apply it to my face that many liquid foundations are guilty of.
As a foundation I give it a C+, as a concealer once you get your ideal shade I will give it a A+.  It would make a great concealer but not too much for under eye area.

Price: $64 at Pennywise.( I saw it for 64 dollars there but you know just like in the US drugstore makeup prices change depending where you go Superpharm might have it for cheaper)
Sister bought it for me she said she didn't buy it at PW but I know she bought it in Trincity Mall because we all go shopping for Christmas there on the same day. ( Y'll that is be a drama, trying to buy for each other and hoping not to run into each other while buying which has happened once before. Thank the Lord she wasn't by the counter buying the item because that would have been a spoiled surprise)

The look: I say dewey finish some say satin. All about preference and experience I guess.
I apply this will a brush. Tried with a sponge which is my favorite choice for foundation but not with this. Can't really explain just MHO.

Honestly I feel a HOT mess when I wear this all over my face. Right now it refuses to get any darker so I just use it when I have a foundation that is too dark for me I put a little. Even that may backfire as this thing is so thick that I could put 5 drops of my L'oreal Infalliable foundation and 2 pumps of this and my face looks white.

Overall rating: C-

This product was an impulse move. I asked my sister to buy it without watching yt videos and reading posts. So I am thankful for this product because it taught me a lesson about makeup. Never compulsive buy unless you have money to waste.
